Privacy Policy for Passant

Last updated: 21 July 2026

This policy explains what information the Passant app ("Passant", "we", "us") collects, why, and your choices. If you have questions, contact us at passant.app.support@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Passant only collects what it needs to let you sign in and play chess with friends:

Passant does not collect your location, contacts, photos library, or browsing history, and contains no advertising and no third-party analytics.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to operate the app: authenticate you, save and sync your games, connect you with friends you add, and send you game notifications. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging) on Google's servers, and is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Google processes this data on our behalf; see the Firebase Privacy and Security page.

Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except Google Firebase as our infrastructure provider. Your display name and game moves are visible to friends you play with, which is inherent to a multiplayer game.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and associated data (profile, friendships, and games), email passant.app.support@gmail.com from your account email address and we will delete it within 30 days.

Children

Passant is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
